Manufacturing and distribution
Ferrer's production plants, all certified, are located in Spain and the United States
In these plants, we manufacture chemical substances, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished pharmaceutical products, both for ourselves and for third parties. For efficient distribution of our products, Ferrer has a logistics centre that successfully combines state-of-the-art automation with sustainable architectural design. It is located in the municipality of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, Spain.
Pharmaceutical products are subject to strict regulations, and it is our responsibility to ensure compliance with them. For this reason, we make sure that our production and testing processes comply with the highest standards and that they do not pose any type of health or safety risk to people.
Ferrer is also committed to investing in environmental improvements to its industrial infrastructure. Ferrer goes beyond compliance with mandatory environmental regulations to achieve a level of sustainable development. This is reflected in its certification in various ISO standards and its U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification at its facilities.
In addition, at Ferrer, we seek to work with our suppliers to improve their management and performance with regard to sustainability, and to adapt our purchasing decisions to improve our management in sustainability matters. To achieve these ends as well as extend our ethics and sustainability principles throughout our supply chain, we have developed a Sustainable Purchasing Policy (available in English).
Sustainable Procurement Policy
At Ferrer we are committed to using our business to fight for social justice. Our objective is to operate as a sustainable, responsible and successful business.
Supply Chain Decarbonisation Program
Climate change is a key issue for Ferrer. It disproportionately affects the communities that have done the least to cause it and have the least resources to deal with it. That is why we want to help our suppliers make a positive impact in the fight against climate change.
