How We Do Business

TRANSPARENCY

Fundamental principles by which we are guided

We want to share what we do

and how we do it

People and their health are the objective of the work of the pharmaceutical industry, and it is the collaboration between all of us that allows them to be achieved: the health system, with its centres and infrastructures; health professionals, with their knowledge and clinical experience; The pharmaceutical industry, with its competence and financial capacity, and the patients themselves, with their experience in managing the disease, cooperate in a proven successful model, which in recent decades has revolutionized health care.

As a result of this collaboration:

  • 95%

of the available drugs have been developed under this model

  • 70%

The increase in life expectancy in recent years is attributed to new drugs

We invest in research and development, and establish collaborations with organizations and healthcare professionals.

These actions must be accompanied by total transparency and a commitment to inform society about them so that the nature of these collaborations is understood, as well as the added value they represent and what they contribute to their well-being.

Collaboration between industry and healthcare professionals is particularly important.

This collaboration is very positive for professionals, as it updates and improves their knowledge of medicines, helps them to strengthen their continuous training and allows them to participate in cutting-edge research at an international level. All this improves the quality of care in the health system and, therefore, benefits patients, the ultimate reason for health care.

As an example of our commitment to transparency and in order to strengthen the trust of society, we publish annually the transfers of value and payments made to professionals and health organizations and patient associations, as well as the transfers of value related to Research and Development.
