Rare neurological diseases are characterized by their low prevalence, affecting less than 5 in 10,000 people1, and by causing varied and progressive neurological symptoms such as muscle weakness, movement disorders and cognitive problems. These symptoms have a significant impact on patients' quality of life, as well as emotional and social implications for them and their families.
Diagnosing and treating these diseases represents a major challenge for healthcare professionals due to limited knowledge of the diseases, overlapping symptoms with other conditions, and a scarcity of effective treatments.
