A former plant for self-care products and cosmetics, our centre in Esplugues de Llobregat has become a benchmark for advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing. Conceived from the outset with sustainability at its core, the transformation project has culminated in obtaining LEED Certified, an international recognition that endorses best practices in energy efficiency, responsible use of resources and reduction of environmental impact throughout the building's life cycle.
This achievement is the result of a demanding journey and a true collective effort. Unlike a new build, the project has involved the rehabilitation of an existing building, reusing its original structure and facades and facing significant technical limitations, especially in highly regulated industrial environments such as production areas. Despite this, the team has managed to integrate innovative solutions, from energy optimization and heat recovery to renewable energy generation and environmental monitoring, demonstrating that it is possible to advance sustainability even in complex contexts.
Beyond efficiency and environmental impact, the project puts people at the centre. The new spaces have been designed to improve the ergonomics, comfort and quality of the work environment, incorporating better lighting conditions, air quality and space organisation. Thus, sustainability and well-being become inseparable elements of a project that not only strengthens Ferrer's production capacity, but also actively contributes to building a fairer future and a truly habitable environment.
