That's why today we celebrate that we have achieved the EcoVadis Gold rating for our best practices, placing us in the 7% of companies in the pharmaceutical sector that have obtained such a high score.
EcoVadis aims to create an ecosystem of relationships between companies that evaluate each other in terms of sustainability in a transversal way and are committed to continuous improvement. It also facilitates a maturity space in which companies can improve relationships with each other and establish the collective commitment that is needed.
The EcoVadis Rating covers a wide range of non-financial management systems including environmental impacts, labour practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Each company is evaluated on the material aspects corresponding to the size, location and sector of the company.
We have been working with EcoVadis for two years to be able to evaluate our suppliers in terms of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). Therefore, "belonging to EcoVadis allows us to extend the impact to our entire supply chain and recognises us as a company committed to society and the environment", explains Cristina Ruscalleda, Procurement Director at Ferrer.
The areas that have been most highly valued, at an advanced level, have been labour practices and human rights, and the environment. Our GreatWork! work model, the implementation of projects such as diversity and inclusion or the formalization of various procedures have been recognized by EcoVadis, as well as our commitment to climate strategy and environmental management. Likewise, the categories of ethics and supply chain have also been evaluated with good performance.
In addition to Ferrer's strengths, which EcoVadis has evaluated very positively, areas for improvement have also been detected in the different areas that will serve as a lever to continue growing and perfecting our ESG practices.
