Five organizations that promote the socialization of wealth to return it where it belongs

Giving back to society

At a time when the gap between the richest 1% of the population and the remaining 99% is getting deeper, at Ferrer we believe that our profits should not be used to make shareholders rich and continue to fuel this situation, but to reduce inequalities.

 

We give back a large part of our profits to society through social, cultural and environmental projects. And the Ferrer Foundations play an essential role in this.

The Ferrer Foundations develop strategies to fight for social justice through projects that promote equal opportunities

Ferrer Green for Good Foundation

The Ferrer Green for Good Foundation promotes social urban gardens under a permaculture regime with the aim of promoting greener, fairer and more inclusive cities.

 

In addition, it promotes research on regenerative agriculture to provide scientific knowledge in the face of the challenges arising from the climate and social emergency.

  • Our green commitment

    Our purpose is to recover and transform degraded or unused plots of land in Barcelona and its Metropolitan Area into productive gardens, spaces that take care of the land and people, and that promote food sovereignty and favour social integration.

  • 6 social urban gardens

    Green for Good gardens are permaculture spaces where regenerative agriculture is practiced. They are located in urban and peri-urban areas with a lack of green areas.

  • Research

    Green for Good gardens also function as living laboratories to generate scientific knowledge. We collaborate with research centres, universities and social organisations to rigorously study their impact.

Ferrer Social Justice Foundation

The Ferrer Social Justice Foundation focuses on accompanying and supporting groups in situations of special vulnerability.

 

Currently, it has two areas of action: the Ferrer For Food soup kitchen and Acció Palestina, a project to raise awareness and mobilise citizens in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

  • Ferrer for Food

    Ferrer for Food is a social kitchen project that prepares some 4,200 healthy menus daily for people in vulnerable situations. Each year it prepares around 1 million meals, distributed through more than 50 social entities.

  • Palestinian Action

    From a local and global perspective, Acció Palestina promotes various initiatives that seek to generate the emergence of a common awareness and citizen mobilization around the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Palestinian people.

Ferrer Music Foundation

The Ferrer Music Foundation understands music as a collective good with transformative value and, from this conviction, promotes talent and access to this artistic expression. 

 

Through its projects of musical excellence and social integration, it promotes a set of awards and scholarships that facilitate learning and professional dedication to this artistic discipline; and brings music to schools in neighborhoods with vulnerable situations , where it also promotes a program for the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders.

  • Queen Sofia Award for Musical Composition

    With more than 40 years of history and great international prestige, this award recognizes original pieces of orchestral repertoire. In addition to the unique distinction awarded so far, endowed with 100,000 euros, from 2026 a second prize of 50,000 euros and a third prize of 25,000 euros will be added. The Queen Sofia Prize for Musical Composition thus reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of contemporary classical music and support for the careers of composers, so that they can dedicate themselves to creation and their work is heard, disseminated and recognized.

  • Ferrer-Salat Scholarships

    In collaboration with the Fundació Conservatori Liceu, it offers young promises the financial support necessary to pursue higher education at this prestigious institution.  Currently, 40 scholarships are awarded each year: 20 four-year scholarships, which cover the total cost of Higher Degree studies in Music and 20 scholarships of excellence for students already enrolled who have demonstrated motivation and outstanding progress. Since 2010, more than 700 Ferrer-Salat Scholarships have been awarded in their different modalities.

  • Primary and Secondary Music

    Since the 2016-2017 academic year, more than 6,000 students have benefited from patronage of this program that promotes access to and study of music in schools with vulnerable environments. By providing schools with instruments and the knowledge of the teachers of the prestigious Liceu Conservatory, the initiative allows for equal opportunities in the practice of this artistic expression.

Fundació Finestres

The Finestres Foundation is a unique cultural ecosystem that promotes literary culture, getting involved in the entire book chain and from the conviction that it is a powerful tool for generating knowledge, awareness and critical thinking.

 

Placing special emphasis on narrative, essays and comics, it currently has four bookshops, announces awards and scholarships, supports independent initiatives, offers spaces for creation and dissemination and is part of the publishing fabric.

  • Finestres Bookstores

    More than shops where you can buy books, the Finestres Bookshops are spaces dedicated to reading and knowledge, innovative and committed to culture: bookshops to read. There are currently three establishments in Barcelona, one of them dedicated entirely to Palestine, and one in Palamós.

  • Finestres Awards for Narrative and Comic

    They annually recognize the best talent in narrative and comics and have an endowment of € 25,000 each. They currently include two distinctions in narrative for published work (one in Catalan and one in Spanish) and three comic book awards, two for published work (best work and best children's and young people's work in Catalan or Spanish) and one for project (in Catalan) with the option of also recognizing a mention for new talent (which has an endowment of 15,000 euros).

  • Finestres Essay Grants

    Their purpose is to encourage critical reflection and support writing with intellectual ambition and literary depth. Each year, the essay and non-fiction projects of six authors are recognized, three in Catalan and three in Spanish. The endowment of each scholarship is €25,000.

  • Finestres Literary Residency

    Located in a house on a cliff on the Costa Brava, the Finestres Literary Residency offers a quiet and inspiring space to dedicate yourself to writing. Each month hosts four writers from diverse backgrounds, backgrounds, and styles.

  • Promotion of Comics

    This line of action is aimed at promoting young talent in the field of comics through scholarships to study in reference centres, supporting self-publishing festivals and responding to the structural difficulties that affect professionals in the sector, recognising their cultural and creative value.

  • Editorial Finestres

    Born in 2021 as a comic book publisher in Catalan, it has published more than fifty titles by emerging authors such as Nadia Hafid and Genie Espinosa and international references such as Marjane Satrapi, Rutu Modan and Daniel Clowes. In 2026, the Finestres Publishing House expands and evolves with the birth of the Finestres Ensayos imprint.

Ferrer Talent Foundation

Through a unique high-performance centre in Europe, the Carles Ferrer Salat Tennis Empowerment Centre (TEC), located in a privileged enclave of Collserola Park, the Ferrer Talent Foundation was created with the aim of accompanying athletes so that they become benchmarks and collective inspiration for their commitment and involvement in the fight for social justice.

  • Court to Pro (C2P) and Court to Campus (C2C)

    The TEC's main projects, Court to Pro (C2P) and Court to Campus (C2C), have the common goal of generating opportunities and promoting change through sport. Sporting, academic and social excellence combine to boost the careers of young tennis talents on their professional path (C2P) but also to facilitate access to higher education for children and young people in vulnerable situations (C2C).

  • ACE (Action for the Community and the Environment) Program

    The physical preparation of tennis players is developed in parallel with the follow-up of the ACE program, Action for the Community and the Environment. It is a wide range of awareness-raising activities and active participation in initiatives in favour of eco-social justice with the aim of raising their voices in favour of a fairer and more equitable society.
